Most Common Pitfall

Pitfall

We are to order our lives by the light of His law, not our guesses about His plan.

— J. C. Ryle

I was awakened by this quote so simple in its content yet so powerful in its message!

Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future

Proverbs 19:21 – “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.”

Psalms 1:2 – (Blessed is the man) whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.

Psalms 19:7 – The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple;

Psalms 119:105 – Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

The Law of the Lord is quite clear – it is perfect, Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the Law and it is summarized in the highest ethic – Love! The sense of clarity in its perfection is unmistakable.

God’s plans are without doubt for our good, often not too clear and mysterious. Discerning the will of God is the most dangerous road uphill, you either fall on one side of the valley of “deception caused by warped minds” or on the other side of the valley – setting up ourselves as “gods who know everything”!

Christian Living is not magical, it is a miracle of living everyday in obedience to Gods word by grace.
